Is romance necessary in all fiction? Why or why not?
All? Of course not. However, I prefer my fiction to either be romance or at least have an element of it. And not just an aside to draw in romance readers for their dollars – a properly filled out romance, which means that aspect of the plot has a happily ever after.

Has to be Lucian and Gen from my first novella IRONHAVEN. It’s a second chance romance set at the end of the world. Gen is a scientist, scarred and world-weary, whereas Lucian is the privileged rich boy beholden to his parents. Bonus fun fact! Gen is sexually experienced but Lucian is a virgin.
I think they’re my favourite because they were the first couple I wrote and had published.
