I have been making up stories since I was a child, though I didn’t start writing them down until my early twenties, when I discovered fan fiction. I loved exploring the less popular characters – usually the “bad” guys – and trying to figure out what made them tick.
Raised on a diet of Doctor Who, Star Trek and Shuttle launches, I was drawn to science fiction, while stealing books from my Harlequin-obsessed sister lead me to add a romantic twist to my stories. It was only when I became a part of the writing community that I discovered this was actually a sub-genre known as sci fi romance.
My first novella was published July 2011, and was followed by several others and a couple of awards – TIN CAT won the Most Geeky Galaxy Award while ARCHANGEL won the Prism Best Novella Award.
I’m the wrong side of 40, and I live just outside Manchester, UK, with my husband, children and a demented dog.
